Loki is a god. Y/N is a mortal Avenger. Loki tried to destroy New York. Y/N succeeded in saving it. Loki had never celebrated Christmas. Christmas is Y/N's favorite holiday.
There is a lot of differences between the two. That's why the rest of the Avengers had never guessed that Loki and Y/N used to 'go out' as a mortal such as Y/N would say. Yes it was complicated. But it was so fun. At least in that moment.
And then Loki did his whole, 'Bow to me, you puny humans' thing and tried to invade New York with a bunch of aliens. And he was condemned to... 'community service' on Midguard after a couple-years-long hearing on Asgaurd.
Of course, this was only a fraction of his punishment, but many thought it would be fitting, and it might take him down a notch, if he was forced to help out around none other then the Avengers Tower.
So there sat poor little Y/N, surrounded by people at Tony's Christmas Eve party, all the way on the other side of the room from Loki, just watching him. He just si
